Why do we do what we do?

So a question we've been thinking about a lot lately is why do we do what we do? I know I have seen many different questions toward companies in the same realm as Christian Apparel. Are you using God's name for profit? What are you doing with the profit? Do you think you have to wear Christian clothing to be a good Christian?
To answer some of those questions, here is why we do what we do.
We started this apparel company not as a way to use God's name to get rich, but to use the gifts and talents God has given us for His Glory. This is one reason we choose to repeatedly share one particular verse, Matthew 5:16
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Our goal will never be to get rich from this. Our one and only goal is to share God's love with everyone around us. When I think of multiple different companies, whether big or small, I always wonder what difference they could make for God's Kingdom. What if they used their money for people in an attempt to grow God's Kingdom rather than a fancy new million dollar office facility? Now new things are nice and sometimes essential, treating your employees is nice and a good gesture to show you care for them, providing your family with an amazing life is great and amazing, but what if we had some sort of balance? What if instead of getting the top of the line new things, we just got better but not the best and then used the rest of that money to help build God's Kingdom? What if instead of spending $1,000 on the latest and newest item, we spent $600 on last years model and then used that other $400 to feed people that are hungry? To buy a kid new shoes because his family can't afford it? $400 is lots of new pairs of shoes!
So why Christian Apparel? Because it allows us to openly express who we belong to. You ever walk around the grocery store and see someone wearing a company sweatshirt? Or you see someone wearing their work uniform? At least in the back of my mind I go "They must work for that company" or at least "They must have something to do with that company". Christian apparel allows us to openly and proudly say we belong to Jesus! Now clothing is great, but we need to remember also that we need to show it with our mouths and with our actions. I know for me personally I will be wearing our apparel out in public and I have to remind myself that if I am going to be wearing a shirt saying I belong to Jesus, then I better act like it (not that we shouldn't be acting like it already). It's a good reminder to ourselves and to those around us that we belong to Jesus. No, you don't need to wear Christian apparel to be a Christian, but it's a fun way to express your faith and share God's love with everyone around us!
